Wearing Jeans for the First Time in Years
Hey my dudes! I hope you are all doing well! This week I am just going to have a little talk about jeans! In this blog post I am talking about buying and wearing jeans for the first time in a long while! I would say it has been almost two since a bought jeans and a little less than that since I have worn them.
I haven’t really been feeling jeans lately. None of them seem to fit properly or feel as good as trousers so I pick trousers over jeans any day. Now I really want to start experimenting with jeans again.
Shopping for Jeans
Jean shopping is my least favourite shopping to do. This is probably why it has taken me like two years to actually shop for them. It is so hard to find a pair of jeans that look good and feel good. A lot of the time jeans will be super tight in store because you need to work them in a bit. You don’t want to size up because you know they will loosen up after a few wears so you go with the jeans that are pretty snug. Jeans can also be way too long so you don’t know if you want to get them hemmed, just wear heels, or cuff them. Depending on the type of jean, each of the things I just listed could matter more than the other; skinny jeans won’t change when you wear heels and you can’t cuff bootleg jeans. Now, on top of all those reasons, jeans shopping also sucks because EVERY STORE IS DIFFERENT! It is so bloody annoying to be like a 4 in one store and like an 8 in another – there is no consistency.
Figuring Out What Style Works Best
Another reason why jean shopping can be hard is because there are so many different styles of jeans. There are like 5 different variations of skinny jeans and then you have boyfriend, girlfriend, and mom jeans. Most of these don’t even look all that different on the rack but they look SO different on so you really need to figure out what exact style looks best. Another issue is when the style of jeans you know look good on you are not in style so it can be pretty difficult to find some cool ones. That was my issue when finding these jeans. I could only find two different bootcut jeans in the entire store I went into and I found zero flared jeans.
Since I am pretty short, I wanted to try to find a style of jean that really elongates my legs, hence trying to find boot cut or flared jeans. These styles can go right to the floor to maximize length. Also, since I am too tall for short and too short for regular, the regular jeans I bought were great for elongating my leg because I have to wear them with heels. I don’t mind this because I LOVE heels.
Styling Jeans
I love to style jeans either super casual or really dress them up. Here I went super casual with a band tee, jeans and some sunglasses. Since I have to wear heels with these jeans, I put my hair up in a bun. Doing this helped make the look feel more relaxed and casual. On the flip side of that, styling a pair of jeans with some dressy stilettos, a blazer and blouse is also one of my favourite ways to style them.
JEANS – Gap | T-SHIRT – H&M (Found In-Store in Canada) | SHOES – Call It Spring | BAG – Michael Kors | SUNGLASSES – Aldo (similar)
Thank you so much for reading this week. I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

P.S. Since I am wearing a band tee, I thought I should ask you for some music suggestions. I need some new music to listen to. Please comment or message me some suggestions on one of my social media platforms. Thank you!!
