Hey my dudes! I hope you had a great long weekend whether it was Victoria Day or Memorial Day or even the Bank Holiday weekend. This week I am going to tell you about my long hunt for platform sandals. It took me longer than I hoped to find some platform sandals that I actually liked. I wanted something that was mainly black and had a bit of a quirk to them. I finally settled on the Call it Spring ONARERIEN platform sandals. Unfortunately these are not available online in Canada yet but you should definitely be able to find them in stores.

The Hunt

So the hunt for a platform sandal was pretty annoying. It consisted of a ton of online shopping as well as three trips to the mall.

First I looked on Steve Madden and found these but when I went in store to try them on nothing fit. The 9 didn’t fit, the 10 didn’t fit and they didn’t have an 11 in store. I am a 9 or 9.5 in all my Steve Madden shoes so this was annoying. However, if you have super narrow feet then these are worth a try and they’re on sale right now. I also tried on these and these from Steve Madden and they didn’t fit right either. They are also on sale if you want to give them a peak. Next, I looked at all the other shoe stores I usually hit and then some – Call it Spring, Aldo, Little Burgundy, Browns, and Simons – and I found nothing.

Round 2

I went a week later and looked at all the above stores plus The Bay, Nordstrom, Forever 21, Zara, Old Navy, and H&M and still found nothing or if I did find something, they didn’t have my size or didn’t fit right. However, I remained hopeful and continued looking online and a few weeks later I noticed more shoes popping up.

Round 3

I looked at Aldo online and found some that I liked so I tried on these and these in store. The Dillion style fit nicely but the strap came too high up on the foot and were awkward to walk in because of that and the Thialle’s strap bunched up weirdly and I didn’t like it. However, I did put the Thialle style on hold because at this point I thought this was the best it was going to be. I went back down to Call it Spring just to have a look and I ended up seeing the shoes that I finally bought. At first, they didn’t have my size in the ones I liked but then I asked if they had them in the white colour and they did. I tried on a size 9 and they fit like a dream. I ordered the colour I wanted at the store and got them sent to my house. They arrived in a few days.

The Shoes

In the end I bought the ONARERIEN platform sandal in black from Call It Spring. They also came in white and yellow but I wanted the black straps. These shoes are great. They give me extra height, are easy to walk in, fit like a dream, have some nice colour blocking going on and I got them for $35! All women’s sandals at Call it Spring are $35 in store and online for a limited time. I can’t seem to find when it ends so get on this sale quick. Something to keep in mind is that your heel may blister a bit the first time you wear them. I had one heel blister quite a bit but the other one was fine. However, I didn’t blister again after that first day. I love these shoes so much and I am beyond happy I found them.

How To Style Platform Sandals

There are a number of ways you can style platform sandals. You can wear them with jeans, skirts, trousers, dresses, shorts, and literally anything else you can think of. Platform sandals are great if you want the height but don’t want your feet to hurt throughout the day or night. You can find dressier versions or more casual versions or something in the middle like the ones I purchased. For this look I teamed the platform sandals with a black jumpsuit. This jumpsuit is super old but this, this, this, and this one from Zara are beautiful. I added this jean jacket I found at a thrift store to the look to make it more casual but you can throw on whatever jean jacket you own. I threw on the same black Michael Kors purse from this post too. These platform sandals are super easy to fit into your wardrobe and I would definitely recommend finding yourself a pair this summer.

Be sure to check out my last post because these platform sandals would look great with that look.

That is all for this week! However, I was featured in a post on lookvine so be sure to check that out!

Have a great rest of the week!
