Trend Alert: Ice Cream for Everyone
Hi, my dudes!
I hope you have had a great week so far!
I am back with another amazing Spring/Summer 2018 trend: Pastels. I know… shocker! Pastels in spring… what a surprise! Regardless of how common this trend is, I still love it! I love how girly I feel as soon as I put a pastel coloured piece on, even if the silhouette is boyish or edgy. Some of my favourite looks this SS 18, that incorporate this trend, are from Tom Ford, Michael Kors, Chanel, Preen, and Valentino.
Pastels are a super easy way to spring up your winter wardrobe during this transition time. Grab a sweater that is a pastel and you will automatically feel more in the spring spirit whilst still keeping warm. Another way is to add a pastel bag, or other accessory, to your look.
If you really want to dive into this trend then you can clash colours, like I did, and/or wear some ice cream hues from head to toe, whilst breaking it up with some whites and tans if you fancy that. Whites and tans look so beautiful and dainty with pastels, which is why I decided to pair my blue H&M top and pink Forever 21 skirt with white knee highs and tan booties from Steve Madden. I was not able to find the shirt or skirt online because I found them both on sale, in store a couple months ago but I have linked some similar ones down below. The booties are also like 5 or 6 years old so I found these that you can substitute. I have also had this Kate Spade bag for a number of years but I found an updated version of this bag.

You can also wear the same colour of pastel from head to toe. To make it more wearable I would break it up with a camel coat, a tan belt and/or tan shoes.
Pastels are great because they all look great together so you really cannot mess them up. Another great thing about pastels is that everyone can wear them! I mean everyone can wear whatever they want but pastels are so versatile and to be quite frank, they’re pretty neutral to me because of how muted they are. However, if you don’t think they are as neutral as I do, then they are a great way for anyone to add a subtle pop of colour to their look. So, whether you are a he, her, or they, you can rock pastels this spring/summer!
So, since yesterday was the first official day of spring, and the temperatures are still in the negatives here in Canada’s capital city, you should seriously consider wearing a pastel the next time you are feeling frustrated with the cold temperatures to make yourself get more excited for spring. I know that is what I will be doing for the next couple of weeks. It will be super easy too as most of you, like me, have some pastels hidden in your closets already!
Anyways, that is it for this week. Let’s all hope for warmer weather and keep positive because spring temperatures have to be coming soon!
If you haven’t done so already like me on Facebook and follow me on Instagram and Twitter.
See you all next week!
