The Luck of the Irish
Hi, my dudes!
I’m back again with all things St. Patrick’s Day. If you haven’t noticed yet, I’ve been uploading every week on Wednesday night. My goal is to keep this up and hopefully expand that but for now, I can only commit to once a week.
Now, back to what really matters… clothes. So, it is St Patrick’s Day on the 17th and that happens to be a Saturday which is a relief to anyone who wants to go out but is drowning in mid-terms and papers.
St Patrick’s Day is all about the luck of the Irish and everyone hoping they’ll find an Irishman with a hot accent… well that’s all I really want. On top of that, there is the green beer and the good ol’ “Kiss me, I’m Irish” shirts that every person who is not actually Irish wears. If you want to deviate away from that trend then you have come to the right place. I am going to show you a way to subtly get into the St Patrick’s Day spirit.
Green is one of my favourite colours to wear and I recently bought the most rad baker boy hat ever that just happens to be green so I thought I might as well break it out for St Patrick’s Day.
Green is an extremely easy colour for people to wear, especially if you go for more of an earth toned, khaki green. If you want to go all out and wear green everything then more power to ya! Just be sure to break it up with a belt that is a different colour and maybe think about wearing a different colour shoe or bag. You could even break it up with a nice camel coat.
If that is too much for you then you can try something more along the lines of what I wore. I took a fluffy black sweater, that I have had for years, and paired it with some green culottes from Gap (similar). Then I teamed that with some of my favourite booties from Call It Spring that you saw in this post as well as this rad, green baker boy hat from Aldo and this navy Kate Spade backpack from about 3 years ago. I found a bag that has a similar feel but it does not come in navy. I also considered pairing this outfit with the same bag from my last post but decided to go with this bag so you were able to see something different.
This outfit can be altered a bit and worn to the office; not that many of you work on a Saturday but who knows, maybe you do. If you are wanting to wear this to the office, ditch the hat and stick a collared shirt under your sweater. Also, switch out the booties with some heels or any other office shoe you are comfortable with. Voila! You have a St. Patrick’s Day work outfit!
The outfit in these photos is perfect for dinner or casual drinks with your friends. If you are more one for going out clubbing on St. Patrick’s Day, switch out the sweater with a deep V-neck shirt or body and maybe pick a tighter pair of pants. If you wanted, you could switch out the backpack with a wristlet or clutch for your night out too. Just make sure you wear something you are comfortable in. If I was going out then I would definitely switch out the sweater with a deep-v body and continue to rock the culottes but it all depends on where you are going and what you like.
BOOTS – Call it Spring | CULOTTES – Gap (similar) | SWEATER – Forever 21 (similar) | BAG – Kate Spade (similar) | HAT – Aldo
I hope this post inspires you when picking what you are wearing on St. Patrick’s Day. I know I will be rocking this outfit especially since I may have only worn it for about an hour when I took these pictures… Does it even count if it was that short of time? Regardless, I’m going to rock It anyways.
I wish you all a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day! Enjoy all that is green on Saturday and I will see you all next week with a new post!
All the best,
x Kiana
